Marfa Ridge

Marfa Ridge is a rugged, unspoilt area ideally to walking. Described by one guidebook as ‘Malta’s final flourish before dipping beneath the waters of the Comino Channel’. The skyline here is dominated by the Red Tower built in the 17th century it was one of a series of defences designed to protect Malta from seaward attacks. It is now open to visitors. Ras il qammiegh is the highest point in the area – it provides great scenic walking with views across to Gozo and Malta’s western cliffs.
