The Golden Age of ABBA and Boney M at Teatru Aurora, Gozo: 21 November 2026

After a sold-out run at the MCC in Valletta earlier this year, The Golden Age of ABBA and Boney M crosses over to Gozo. The show comes to Teatru tal-Opra Aurora in Victoria on Saturday 21 November 2026 from 19:30, and it is about as feel-good as a night at the theatre gets.

What is it?

This is a big tribute concert built around two of the most loved pop acts of the 1970s. It is a joint production of the Gozo Youth Wind Band and Orchestra with 7-Star Pyramid Production, supported by Festivals Malta. Instead of a small cover band, you get a full orchestral treatment of songs everyone knows.

What to expect

  • A 55-piece orchestra conducted by Joseph Grech
  • Two rock bands, Cash and Band and the Rockin’ Knights, sharing the evening between the ABBA and Boney M halves
  • An 18-voice backing choir and several lead singers
  • Hits such as Waterloo, Dancing Queen, Rivers of Babylon and Daddy Cool, so do not be surprised if the audience starts singing along

Tickets and tips

  • Tickets were listed at about €30 to €45 on ShowsHappening when we checked. Prices can change, so confirm on the official ticket page.
  • The listed minimum age is 5, which makes it a good option for families with older children.
  • The same evening, A Celebration of John Williams is on at Teatru Astra just down the road, so double-check which theatre is on your ticket.
  • Staying the weekend? The free Gozo Herbs Festival in Għarb is on the next day, Sunday 22 November.

How to get there

Teatru Aurora is at 100 Republic Street in Victoria, a short walk from the main bus terminus. From Malta, take the Gozo Channel ferry from Ċirkewwa to Mġarr, then bus 301 or a taxi to Victoria, about 15 minutes by car. The show should finish around 22:00, so if you are heading back to Malta the same night, check the late ferry times first, or turn it into an overnight stay. Our Gozo day trip guide covers ferry costs and timings.
