Woodland Christmas Market 2026 at Ta’ Qali National Park: 4 to 13 December

The Woodland Christmas Market returns to Ta’ Qali National Park from Friday 4 to Sunday 13 December 2026. Set around the Oak Tree Circle, it is one of the most relaxed Christmas markets in Malta: lots of open space, trees strung with lights, and a focus on handmade and eco-friendly gifts rather than mass-produced stock.

What to expect

  • Gift stalls: local makers selling crafts, homeware, natural cosmetics and small presents. Organisers Eco Market Malta screen vendors with sustainability in mind.
  • Food and drink: Maltese favourites and international street food, plus mulled wine, local craft beer and cocktails for the grown-ups.
  • Free children’s activities: cookie decorating, face painting, giant games, arts and crafts, a magic show and a North Pole station, with Santa and Mrs Claus in residence.
  • Kids4Kids corner: young makers selling their own creations, which children love to browse.
  • Live stage: performances from local choirs, singers and bands.

Opening hours

  • Weekdays (Fri 4, Mon 7, Wed 9, Thu 10, Fri 11 December): 16:00 to 19:00.
  • Weekends and public holidays (Sat 5, Sun 6, Tue 8, Sat 12, Sun 13 December): 10:00 to 19:00.

Entry is free. The daily programme of shows can change, so check the organiser’s page before you go if you are heading there for a particular act.

Tips for visitors

  • Weekend afternoons are the busiest. For a calmer visit with small children, go on a weekend morning.
  • Evenings in December can be cool and damp in the park, so bring a warm layer.
  • The park has paths and grass, so a pushchair with sturdy wheels works better than a light buggy.

How to get there

Ta’ Qali National Park is in the centre of Malta, near Attard and Mosta. Buses 404 and 405 stop near Ta’ Qali Stadium, and there is parking around the national park, though it fills up on weekends. Read more about the park in our guide to family parks and gardens in Malta.

The market opens on the same weekend as Natalis Notabilis in Rabat, just up the hill, so you can easily visit both in one day. For the full list, see our Christmas markets in Malta and Gozo guide.
