Gozo has a strong tradition of big amateur stage productions, and this November the island takes on one of the most ambitious family musicals around. The Prince of Egypt: The Musical plays at Don Bosco in Victoria across two weekends, from 13 to 21 November 2026.
What is the show?
The musical is based on the well-known animated film and tells the story of Moses, from his childhood as a prince in the palace of Egypt to leading his people to freedom. It is full of big choral numbers, dramatic staging and songs that many people will remember from the film, which makes it a good pick for families with older children as well as adults.
Performance dates
- Friday 13 November: 19:30
- Saturday 14 November: 19:30
- Sunday 15 November: 14:30 matinee
- Friday 20 November: 19:30
- Saturday 21 November: 19:30
Each performance is listed at roughly two hours. Event listings show ticket prices of around €30 to €40, but the official booking channel and final prices were not confirmed when we wrote this, so check with the organisers or the Gozo event listings before you travel. Weekend evenings tend to sell out first in Gozo, so book early if you can.
Tips for visitors
- Coming from Malta for an evening show? Check the late ferry times back from Mġarr, or stay the night in Victoria.
- The Sunday matinee is the easiest option for day trippers and young children.
- Arrive 20 to 30 minutes early, as parking around the centre of Victoria fills up on show nights.
- Make a weekend of it with a morning at the Ġgantija Temples or a walk around the Citadel.
How to get there
Don Bosco is in Victoria (Rabat), the main town of Gozo, within walking distance of the bus terminus. Take the Gozo Channel ferry from Ċirkewwa to Mġarr, then a bus or taxi to Victoria, around 15 minutes. If you drive, follow the signs for Victoria centre and use the public car parks near the terminus.
